The Latin America working group is run by the GHA – German Health Alliance together with the Latin America Association (LAV) educated.
- exchange on current topics and with relevant actors and experts in the field of health in Latin America
- Presentation of the activities and contributions of GHA members in the field of health in Latin America
- Identification of interfaces and potentials for the GHA members
- Formulation of interests and needs of GHA members in the field of health in Latin America
- German-Latin American Health Forum: Establishment, planning, content design and setting of topics for a jointly organized conference
- Stimulation of concrete projects and cooperation in the field of health in Latin America
- Preparation of position papers on health in Latin America: Development of own position papers and collaboration of the working group on further position papers of the GHA and third parties
- Sustainable and successful placement of the GHA – German Health Alliance as a creative actor

Operation
- Two meetings per year, held jointly with the Latin America Association (LAV)
- Preparation, support and implementation of delegation visits (incoming & outgoing)
- Close integration with the GHA specialist groups and GHA working groups on development cooperation in health and global health
- Jour fixe of the AG Chair with the Board
- Short report of the working group by the chairmen at the annual GHA members' meeting
- Establishment and use of a dedicated Latin America email distribution list for the working group members via the GHA website and newsletter function
