BDI: China Cyber Talks #6 – China’s cryptography law | April 1, 2022

1. April 2022 | 9:00 - 10:00 CEST

The Chinese state has developed an extensive regulatory framework on cybersecurity, data usage and data protection. Companies doing business in China and especially those generating data in China have to be compliant with these requirements.

Over the course of seven weeks, each Friday from 9 to 10 AM (CET) BDI will provide organisations with an overview of China’s cybersecurity, data handling and data protection regulation.

Session 6 – April 1, 2022 from 9 to 10 AM (CET): In 2020, the Cryptography Law, regulating encryption technologies, products, and services, went into effect in China. In our sixth China Cyber Talk, Jihong Chen, Partner at Zhong Lun Law Firm, will outline how the Cryptography Law fills the long-standing legal gap in the field of cryptography in China and is the first comprehensive law on cryptography administration there. Furthermore, Mr Chen will detail the law’s implications for companies in areas such as R&D, manufacturing, sales, after market and import and export.
