Johanniter International Support provides people worldwide with what they need for a healthy and good life. To achieve this, we work with our partner organizations to build a strong network that provides support to people in times of crisis and disaster. We believe in the power of humanity and support those most affected, according to their own needs. Our work is guided by three key objectives: health, securing livelihoods, and emergency and disaster preparedness.
After natural disasters, rapid, qualified, and well-coordinated assistance is essential for the survival of many people. As part of our disaster preparedness efforts, we strengthen local structures so that community-based first responders can carry out life-saving measures.
In the area of health, we are committed to ensuring that more people have access to needs-based, high-quality healthcare. We are improving the infrastructure of primary health facilities and promoting the training of medical personnel.
Our preventive measures, especially in the area of maternal and child health, reduce mortality and enable healthier lives, especially for children under the age of five, as well as pregnant and breastfeeding women. Adequate access to clean water, sanitation, and healthy food is part of our comprehensive health measures – to ensure long-term health preservation.
