Presentation of the GHA study – Investing in Women’s Health: Economic Opportunities and Social Responsibility

Women's health in focus – GHA strengthens exchange between politics, science and business

Women worldwide bear a higher burden of disease than men – and in the Global South, women's health care is often particularly patchy. Many diseases go undetected or untreated, and women's specific needs are often not adequately addressed in research, development, and healthcare. Yet one thing is clear: investments in women's health pay off – for women's quality of life as well as for societies and economies as a whole.

With the new GHA study on women's health For the first time, we are creating a structured overview of which actors are already involved, which topics are being addressed, and where gaps still exist. The mapping shows that numerous companies, organizations, and initiatives are active – including Bayer with UNFPA and Daiichi Sankyo in cancer research. This knowledge is an important basis for identifying synergies and jointly achieving impact.

A visible sign of the growing awareness was our Event on women's health in the German Bundestag: Representatives from politics, science, business and civil society came together to discuss the results of the study and initiate new collaborations. Federal Minister Reem Alabali-Radovan With her presence, she underscored the importance of the topic and emphasized the importance of cross-sector alliances to achieve sustainable change.

Numerous further events will be held by various stakeholders in the fall – the topic will continue to receive significant attention. We hope that together we have been able to provide some impetus: Women’s health must always be taken into account. The GHA will continue to actively support this dialogue and support its members in contributing their expertise and commitment in this important field.
