German-Egyptian Healthcare Education Partnership Launched
April 2025 – Cairo. In a significant move to strengthen international cooperation in healthcare education and professional development, a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) has been launched between the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Supreme Council of University Hospitals (SCUH), and the Carl Remigius Fresenius Education AG, represented by its international division, Cognos International, alongside the Ludwig Fresenius Schools for nursing, technical, and physiotherapy training, and the Carl Remigius Medical School.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to enhance the quality of nursing and healthcare technician education in Egypt and across Africa, following German qualification and certification standards. The initiative also aims to establish a platform for a future highly qualified labor market for Europe.
The agreement was signed in the presence of H.E. Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Egypt’s Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. With 145 university hospitals treating nearly 25 million patients annually, the SCUH—together with Cognos International and the Ludwig Fresenius Schools—plans to make strategic investments in the training of paramedical healthcare staff.
This MoU marks a new chapter in cross-border collaboration, focused on investing in people, building institutional capacity, and working toward a shared vision of a healthier, better-equipped future for the region.
