EU-Africa pharma and healthcare marketplace & matchmaking events

Gepostet am 13. Mai 2022

Ending the COVID-19 pandemic and avoiding future health crisis is of mutual interest for both Africa and the EU. Acting as Team Europe, the EU, its Member States and the European financial institutions are mobilising resources to ensure equitable access to safe, effective, quality, and affordable vaccines, therapeutics, equipment and other health products worldwide.

The Team Europe initiative on manufacturing and access to medicines, vaccines and health technologies (MAV+) in Africa is committed to involve all the important actors in this area, including the public and private sectors.

To support the above objective, the European Commission organises a marketplace and matchmaking event on pharma and healthcare, which aims to:

  • Build-up and strengthen the existing relationship between EU and Africa on health products production to address global health needs.
  • Support the research uptake, innovation and manufacturing of vaccines, therapeutics, diagnostics, equipment or other health technologies necessary to prevent and treat diseases particularly prevalent in Africa or relevant for global threats.
  • Enhance the collaboration between EU and African organisations in the value chains of pharma and medical technology industry.

Please find the programme of the events for more information and the registration link here.
