“Presentation and open dialogue on the key priorities in Global Health within the German G7 presidency”

Context and Focus:

On the 1st of January 2022, Germany took over the G7 presidency from its predecessor, the UK. As one of the key themes of the presidency, Germany sets ambitious goals in advancing Global Health. Under the German Federal Ministry of Health as the leading ministry in Global Health, a clear focus has been set. Ending the Covid-19 pandemic, tackling the threat posed by antimicrobial resistances, and climate & health will be in the spotlight throughout this year. But how can progress in these areas under the German lead be achieved? How does the process of the German G7 presidency work until the G7 summit in June? What is the role of the Engagement Groups within the G7? Leading actors in the G7 process  will reflect on these questions and discuss the road ahead for the German G7 presidency.
