India is one of the largest and fastest developing economies in the world. With its huge market base and pool of well-educated professionals, India has enormous economic potential and is increasingly becoming an attractive destination for global investors. Germany is India’s most important trading partner within the EU. India offers German companies a huge and growing market with an expanding middle class. Moreover, unlike Germany and other countries, the Indian society is exceptionally young and has no problems with an ageing population. Due to increased health awareness, rising incomes, improved access to insurance and the spread of lifestyle-related diseases, the Indian healthcare market is expected to grow constantly in the future. The Indian government has set the target of increasing its healthcare spending to 2.5 per cent of the GDP by 2025.

In the webinar, we would like to analyze the different potentials of the Indian healthcare market for German pharma and medtech companies and ask them about their specific expectations. Against this backdrop, we would also like to take a closer look at existing challenges and we will discuss with our Indian guest speakers how they might be overcome. For a purposeful discussion we will have German and Indian speakers from both the private and the public sector.
