Nomination phase begins 1 April with a prize endowment of €500,000
We are delighted to introduce to our partners, the Virchow Prize for Global Health. This major international award of high prestige recognizes outstanding achievements in global health, in close connection and inspiration with the United Nations 2030 Agenda Sustainable Development Goals.
Laureates of the Virchow Prize for Global Health will be awarded an endowment of €500,000 for their longstanding commitment and contributions towards improving health and well-being for all.
Nomination for the Virchow Prize for Global Health may be submitted by any person who meets the nomination criteria and is received within the designated timeframe. This year, the nomination phase is open from 1 April 2022 through 30 June 2022.

The Virchow Prize for Global Health is awarded annually in Berlin, with the inaugural ceremony held on 15 October 2022. Each year, the official announcement of the Virchow Prize laureates is released on 13 October, the birthday of the Prize’s namesake, Rudolf Virchow.
