Dear GHA-Member,
we are delighted to pass on the handbook of the UNITE Global Summit. The GHA was represented on one of the summits panels (for more information see page 42 of the document).
The first UNITE Global Summit: Virtual, joined members of parliament, congresses and senates alongside global health experts and civil society leaders to not only gain lessons learned from the response to COVID-19 but commit to not losing sight of the Sustainable Development Goals and other communicable diseases in the midst and aftermath of the pandemic.
As a follow up to the event, UNITE has published a handbook that provides an overview on the Global Summit programme and topics, while offering key recommendations for policymakers.
Like the event itself, this handbook provides an overview on the current state of infectious diseases from a policy perspective and offers clear steps to address their elimination as public health threats, as expressed from experts on the frontlines.
This handbook also aims to not only provide policymakers with the tools needed to affect change in their home countries while also conveying the urgent global solidarity and investment required to transform the global health order and better serve our communities.
