73rd Latin America Day

on November 10th and 11th
in Hamburg.

The world seems to have undergone massive change since the beginning of the year. Substantial transformation processes are also taking place in Latin America. In addition, the continent is increasingly coming back into the German and European focus, both economically and politically. It is time for action! Therefore, this year’s conference will focus on the state of relations between Europe (Germany) and Latin America. How are supply chains changing and what are the implications of German and upcoming European legislation? What impact do “climate rules” and certifications have on financing? And is the Latin American energy market forward-looking?

Latin America is very advanced with digitalisation in many areas. Acceptance and adoption of new technologies are high; companies, institutions and people are very open to digital solutions. In areas such as productivity, communication or process optimisation, we in Germany can learn a lot from Latin America and the successful start-ups and bring sustainability and climate protection into the cooperation. Are innovation and digitalisation a new springboard for LATAM? What technical solutions mean the future in mechanical engineering? What experiences and learning processes have changed the healthcare sector and what do innovative solutions for food security look like? We will answer these questions on both conference days and also invite you to do some active networking.

Latin America-EU: new approaches to a traditional relationship

During both days, international experts and professionals from different sectors will discuss the new directions that the transatlantic relationship could take and the possibilities for development in both regions. As guest of honour of the 73rd Latin America Day, we welcome H.E. Mario Abdo Benítez, President of Paraguay, to the traditional gala dinner.

First conference day, November 10th 2022

Current status and Future of Relations between Europe (Germany) and Latin America
The conference will open on 10 November with a series of outstanding keynotes and a subsequent panel. This will be followed by parallel forums on “Supply Chains – Just in case”, “Financing under “climate rules”” and “Energy, the role in Latin America”.

Innovation: new springboard for LATAM?!
In our top-class keynote panel, founders and CEOs of some of the most successful start-ups (unicorns) worldwide will demonstrate the innovative power of Latin American start-ups and talk about their still underestimated potential for the German economy. Exciting developments and trends will be highlighted and discussed. The following forums will be “Innovative solutions – the future of mechanical engineering”, “Innovation in Food Security” and “Healthcare – Success & Learnings in Latin America”, during which the signing of an MOU between the German Health Alliance and the Business Association for Latin America will take place.
