In the GHA more than 50 innovative and strongly growing companies from the area of medical technology have come together to encourage an exchange of information and experiences between members and to promote the international medical technology export business in principle. Just as important are the GHA’s excellent contacts with ministries and institutions such as the German Trade & Invest (GTAI) or the Federal Ministry for Economics and Technology. The GHA offers its members a pool of know-how from which everyone benefits. „Proven Partnership“ is the motto that is lived since 25 years during daily work and during the regular meetings. The GHA combines innovative technology, high quality products „Made in Germany“ with excellent services and attendances.
GHA MEDTECH NETWORK
Among the member companies are large companies as Siemens Healthcare, B. Braun und Maquet, especially SMEs as Meiko oder Atmos. The more different the sizes of enterprises, the more varied the product range: The greater part of the GHE compamies are active in electrical and medical technology, followed by those dealing with and manufacturing medical commodities and expendable items, physiotherapy, orthopaedics, laboratory processing, services and publications. Besides, areas like rescue equipment, medicine for emergency purposes, diagnostic products, IT and communication technology are also represented in the GHA. Overall, the GHA stands for about 70 percent of the German export volume in medical technology.
The GHA represents almost the entire medical technlogy product range: Whether stethoscopes, CT equipment or hospital IT, suppliers from all product segments are represented in the GHA. The customers get from the GHA and its member companies a problem solving solution tailored to their needs. For international customers GHA offers a central contact point with its offices in Berlin and Bonn. Here requests are analyzed and forwarded to the appropriate member companies. Customers receive quick, expert advice and support on all aspects of the medical supplies.
The GHA has become a network that promotes direct communication between the its members. Meetings dealing with present thematic priorities and specific country issues take place three times a year, serving primarily as experience exchange. There member companies can openly discuss questions of distribution, foreign markets and other export topics. Moreover, commercial and scientific exports give lectures on the chosen topic.
Since its foundation, the German Healthcare Export Group (GHE) – now GHA – German Health Alliance – has been presented at important national and international trade fairs, for example at the biggest health fair MEDICA in Düsseldorf and the Arab Health in Dubai, for many years with a large joint booth. In its lounge customers and GHA members arrange to meet to business appointments. To maintain existing contacts or to build up new ones there are also delegations trips to interesting countries, which will be tailored to the wishes of the members.
