Working Group East Europe & Central Asia

Adequate health care is the key to economic recovery and prosperity. The covid crisis has clearly shown how vulnerable global trade flows are and how important it is for all players to network. This concerns in particular the German health industry. The industrial healthcare industry is one of the German export hits. The export quota of the medical technology industry, which recorded sales of over 34 billion euros in 2020, was a good 66 percent.

The expert group wants to connect all relevant stakeholders in order to further improve business outcomes.

We provide for our member companies an exchange platform to promote innovation partnerships in the specific region with leading German companies, experts and political representatives from Germany and Eastern Europe.   Thereby we are strengthening the market presence of German companies. The formats of our work include the expert group meetings, which take place three times a year, webinars and exclusive exchange formats. Our main event is the German – East European & CIS Health Forum, which is traditionally held in autumn as a side event of the World Health Summit in Berlin. This German – East European & CIS Health Forum offers the framework for exchange and networking with decision-makers from Germany and the partner countries, company representatives, experts and researchers in the health sector. The immediate fight against pandemics in the partner countries and the sustainable strengthening of health systems will be an important topic also for the next year.  The Russian war of aggression also leads to new challenges which must be addressed by the member companies and will be part of further discussions in the expert group meetings.

We invite all interested stakeholders to join our meetings and the exchange. The expert group offers great networking opportunities and the chance to increase business opportunities in the addressed countries.
