Roundtable: Iranian – German Cooperation in Health | October 4, 2022
4. October 2022 | 12:30 - 14:00 CEST
In order to improve health care for the population, Iran plans to expand its health sector substantially in the coming years. This includes, in particular, high investments in the expansion of hospital capacities and the modernization of existing facilities. In the medium term, the country is aiming for three hospital beds per 1,000 inhabitants. Taking into account the rapid population growth, up to 267,000 beds should then be available by the end of 2026/27. The expansion is to be financed mainly by private investors.
In the course of the modernization measures, foreign companies are in demand not only as investors but also as suppliers of technologically sophisticated medical technology.
