The Agency for Business & Economic Development (AWE) is the central point of contact for development cooperation when it comes to investments and implementing sustainable projects in emerging and developing countries.

The internationally experienced team advises companies directly and free-of-charge on funding and financing opportunities and on market potential. The agency promotes the exchange of knowledge, involves companies in suitable projects wherever possible and establishes contacts with important partners – in Germany and at the planned location abroad.

AWE cooperates with the ADB (Asian Development Bank) and UNIDO, among others. In addition, the AWE’s Helpdesk on Business and Human Rights advises companies on behalf of the German government on the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights (NAP).
