The GHA has been contacted and asked to forward the following request made by the Libanese Embassy in Germany:
“On Tuesday August the 4th, a massive explosion occurred at the Port of Beirut, claiming more than 140 lives, injuring more than 5,000 people, and destroying more than 300,000 houses.
At a time when Lebanon was already bleeding economically and financially, this horrifying disaster added to the despair of the Lebanese with many human losses, countless physical and psychological wounds, and enormous material and infrastructural damages.
In this extremely distressing time, Lebanon is in urgent need for support. While all acts of humanity and solidarity of all kinds are required, the Lebanese Embassy to the Federal Republic of Germany has identified a list of urgently and highly needed drugs. These drugs are missing following the complete destruction of a storage area that was located a few hundred meters away from the blast.
This is not an exhaustive list, but it serves only to draw your attention on some urgently needed drugs. Please be aware that we also need food supplies and construction materials (mainly glasses, aluminium and cement).”
Please find the letter including a list of urgently needed drugs here: List of Urgent Needs for Lebanon
