Hospitals are important players in regional health care, but are currently facing major tasks and changes. For many, demographics, a shortage of skilled employees, and developments in health policy require a well-thought-out realignment. Networking with other players in the health system, politics, and local people play a special role here.
For many years, the OptiMedis team has been successfully working to redesign regional health care together with local actors and to overcome sector boundaries. The expertise lies in the areas of networked and integrated supply, data analytics, and digital innovations. At the same time, OptiMedis is very well networked in the healthcare sector, in research and politics – especially in the hospital sector. In 2018, OptiMedis took over the management of the German Network of Health Promoting Hospitals and Health Institutions (DNGfK) and a little later also the management of its international counterpart (International Network of Health Promoting Hospitals and Health Services).
In order to find the right strategy for a hospital or a group of clinics, an analysis of the regional supply structures and needs as well as a location analysis can be useful. For this purpose, OptiMedis uses socio-demographic and medical data on the one hand, including data in accordance with § 21 of the Hospital Remuneration Act (KHEntgG), and on the other hand, interviews with experts and those involved. Based on the results, ideas are developed on how the establishments can reposition themselves in the region and possibly also restructure. In addition, it will enable the development of a network with regional partners, new contract and remuneration models, and innovative digital approaches. From conception to implementation to evaluation, we provide OptiMedis with everything from a single source.
