Clinical diagnostics of the outer hair cell function in the cochlea
Using the distortion product otoacoustic emission (DPOAE) or the transient-evoked otoacoustic emission (TEOAE) measurement method, the ATMOS OAE 31 tests the outer hair cells in the cochlea across a defined frequency range (550 Hz to 8000 Hz for DPOAE and 500 Hz to 6000 Hz for TEOAE). Comprehensive presentation of the measurement sequence in real time means that the examiner can already make a qualitative assessment during the examination itself.
