As part of LEARNTEC xChange – the online format of Europe’s largest trade fair for digital learning – the delina Award ceremony took place on June 23, 2021. The delina Award is considered an innovation prize for digital education and is awarded for concepts and projects that combine modern technologies and media with everyday learning. Due to Corona, the award ceremony had to take place online.
This year, SZENARIS was awarded together with the Federal Agency for Technical Relief in the category “Education and Training” for the system “VR Dike Defense Simulator”. The virtual reality simulation supports the training of so-called dike runners. They examine a virtual dike section for various damages in a coordinated manner. The various damage situations can be simulated in real time. The task is to find, mark and document damage.
The award was presented by Ms. Sünne Eichler, one of the main initiators of LEARNTEC. According to her, the project impressively combines the interplay of analog and digital learning worlds and promotes realistic qualification through simulations. The jury particularly liked the fact that digital and analog learning worlds were optimally implemented as an overall concept. Learning successes would thus be directly visible and current developments would be integrated to a special degree in a virtual reality environment.
The two SZENARIS Managing Directors, Dr. Uwe Katzky and Klaus Bock-Müller, were visibly pleased with the award: “We are glad that we have a really highly motivated team that, in a great collaboration with our customers, makes such an award possible in the first place.”
