MEDICA with more than 5,200 exhibitors from 71 nations and a comprehensive exhibition offers an interesting side programme with numerous forums and conferences. Among them, the DiMiMED – International Conference on Diasaster and Military Medicine under the two charms Brig Gen (ret) Rob van der Meer and Col (ret) Gerald Kerr has established itself as a permanent fixture within the MEDICA framework and also in the calendar of international military physicians and civil disaster physicians.
More than 200 high-ranking participants, including 60 generals, from more than 30 nations were able to exchange views on 18 and 19 November on a wide range of topics from emergency, disaster and military medicine. The technical challenges faced by military and civilian physicians are becoming more and more identical when one thinks of possible terrorist attacks, e.g. the treatment of gunshot wounds.
For the 7th time DiMiMED offered detailed information on the topics CBRN, Combat Medical Care and CIMIC as well as infectious diseases, mental health eHealth, artificial intelligence and traumatology.
DiMiMED has once again offered international military and civilian experts an important forum for exchanging experiences and strengthening international networks.
